The DANGER team hosted a small research workshop on political violence. Participants from the University of Copenhagen, the University of Duisburg-Essen, Leuphana University Lüneburg, the University of Konstanz, the University of Osnabrück, and from Witten/Herdecke University presented novel research ideas and ongoing projects. Topics included among others democratic breakdown during the interwar period, political polarization, authoritarian repression at major sporting events, the role of women’s rights organizations in protest movements, and the political consequences of De-Nazification in post-war Germany. The workshop devoted special attention to providing early-career researchers with feedback. Moreover, the participants discussed the potential of joint future research projects.
