Nils-Christian Bormann, Bruno Della Sala, and Edoardo Viganò presented preliminary research findings from the DANGER project at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association (APSA), held in Philadelphia from September 5–8, 2024.

Nils-Christian Bormann, PI of the DANGER project, presented the findings from joint work with Edoardo Viganò, Bruno Della Sala, and Stefan Stojkovic on the effects of political violence on voters’ support for anti-democratic parties. In a second panel, “Executive politics”, Bormann contributed with a study coauthored with Lukas Stötzer on government formation in interwar Europe. In the panel “Digital Authoritarianism, Regime Survival, and Authoritarian Diffusion”, Bruno Della Sala presented a paper from his PhD project on the diffusion of authoritarian regimes. Finally, Edoardo Viganò took part in the panel “Understanding Legislative Debates”, with a paper on the relationship between parliamentary rules and the content of speeches.
